KITES UPDATE
You heard this here first. The two versions of the much talked-about Kites in English and Hindi will basically be the same.
Anurag refutes the report that the steamy scenes in the two versions will be different in Hindi and English. "We can't cheat Hindi audiences. The steamy scenes will be the same in both versions. The visuals will remain unchanged in both."
Explains the director Anurag Basu, "There won't be anything radically different in the two versions because Hrithik and Barbara Mori speak English-Hindi and Spanish, respectively in both English and Hindi."
Anurag plans to work with Barbara Mori again. "I've found a lifelong friend in Barbara. She became a known name in these parts after Kites But I've seen how she gets mobbed in Mexico and at film festivals. I remember when I met her for the first time in LA she was wearing oversized sunglasses. The minute she took them off she was mobbed. Actually, I had seen Barbara's films before I cast her."
The other name short listed was Catalina Morino. "But contrary to rumours Penelope Cruz was never considered."
Nothing that the talented Anurag Basu has directed for screen can equal his turbulent and shocking life story. And he is all set to put it on celluloid. "I've lots to say about my life. So far I've been telling stories about other people's lives. Maybe now it's my own turn. There's so much about my life to be told. Because of my doctors I've recovered from my potentially fatal illness. After what I've gone through things like publicity limelight and glamour seem so useless and vulgar. I've learnt to go beyond trivia."
Anurag is somewhat taken aback by the undue importance being given to the Hrithik-Barbara friendship. "But I don't think Kites will suffer. All this hype will die down by the time the film will release around Diwali. As the time of release approaches the focus will shift to the film. I'm not getting impatient about my name not getting mentioned. When people will see the film, the focus will shift."
Recently back from Cannes, Anurag refutes rumours in Mumbai that Kites was lukewarmly received. "We showed them the incomplete version, without background music, special effects, etc. We showed them the working tape. And the reaction was good."
Anurag falls quiet when asked about his protegee being sidelined from the marketing of Kites. "Kangna too has expressed displeasure about it. But see at the moment we want to project Kites as Barbara and Hrithik's love story. Kangna's portion will come in later. Let's get one thing clear. Kangna is not the main lead in Kites. She was keen to be part of the film. I wasn't that keen because her part was not that pivotal in Kites..."
Adds Anurag, "Murder, Gangster and Life In A Metro were so carefully budgeted, it would've made money. Kites, is another ballgame. So far when I go abroad I am told Bollywood means Shekhar Kapoor, Mira Nair and Deepa Mehta. I'd like Kites to change that."
He's already committed to make his next film for UTV. "I need to get to that immediately. I'm buying time from them."

Kangana's NEW MOVIE
Kangana Ranaut will star alongside Big B in Kushan Nandy’s The Actor. “Kangana loved the role and has given her nod. She will play a smart journalist in the film,” says a source “Pritish (Kushan’s father) has interacted with Kangana on a couple of occasions. He and Kushan think that she is a gifted actress.”
Kangana is currently filming in Switzerland for a South film and will next be seen in Hrithik Roshan’s Kites, now being set for distribution in December. The film will be released in English and Hindi versions, although the only real difference is Hrithik’s voiceover which will be in two different languages – the visual content remains the same. “We can't cheat Hindi audiences,” explains a source, “The so-called steamy scenes will be the same in both versions. The visuals will remain unchanged in both.”
Kangana has clearly caught the fashion bug after her role in the eponymous film. She recently walked the ramp effortlessly at the SARV fashion show for designer Rohit Verma. Stealing the occasion, she glided down the catwalk in a full-length white satin gown enhanced by wild ostrich plumes and a chunky silver-and-ruby necklace.

"Fashion" to be screened in 31st Moscow Film Festival
It was way back in 2003 that Madhur Bhandarkar's CHANDNI BAR had travelled to Moscow for 'Moscow International Film Festival'. Over last six years, Bhandarkar has made quite a few other award winning and commercially successful films. However, none of his movies could make it to this festival again. Now, history is repeating itself as Madhur's last release (and the biggest grosser of his career) FASHION would be screening in this year's '31st Moscow International Film Festival 2009'.
Madhur is of course elated at the announcement and is gearing up to take his film to an international platform. ''It's a matter of pride that FASHION has been the chosen one for the Film Festival. I am honoured with the recognition and such support coming my way. Six years is a long wait and though my films were winning National Awards here in India, I have continued looking forward to how my movies strike a chord internationally as well. Moscow holds a special place in my heart as for decades, this part of the world has appreciated Bollywood cinema. I hope they also like what they see in FASHION.''
A good box office success when released last Diwali, FASHION is an all-woman (Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Mugdha Godse) affair that defined a new dimension for the career of each of the three ladies. Moreover, the film also brought Madhur in a new light altogether as for the first time in his career, he moved out of the grim and gritty backgrounds of his films and presented something which was as glossy (while maintaining a realistic touch) and striking as FASHION.

Kangana Speaks on Her Blog
This is just an entry from Kangana's blog where she thanks her fans from all what they did to her blog. She also said that her bags are packed and she is getting ready for the IIFA awards. She is currently shooting "Once Upon A Time in Mumbai" and has talked about the looks in this entry.
"Good Evening!
Its 9:30 pm, and I’ve returned from a day of shooting a rain sequence for my film Once Upon A Time in Mumbai with Ajay Devgan that is being directed by Milan Luthria. It’s been a lot of fun, specially dressing up in 70’s costume inspired by the talented, beautiful actresses of that time. I love the look, with the big hair, the khol lined eyes, the sarees. After wearing my make-up and costume, even I did a double take, not quite recognizing myself in the mirror!
I love reading the comments and letters you leave on the site. Thank you so much for your appreciation for my role in Raaz and in Fashion. I’m glad you enjoyed the movie. And thanks for your supportive comments on my relationship status changing! For those of you who are sorry, thanks for your empathy, and to those who think it’s great, well I have to say that you had foresight I obviously did not! And finally, really, thank you for your sweet and encouraging responses to this website – I’m glad you like it, and we can share this space to connect. It’s been my intention to keep it personal, genuine. Do keep writing in.
This year holds a lot of travel, starting with the IIFA Awards in Macau. I look forward to sharing news and views with you on this blog.
Keep writing in. It’s lovely to hear from you.
Love,
Kangna"
The IIFA Awards has already began and I am eagerly waiting to see what surprises Kangna throws at us.

"Ek Niranjan": Telugu's most talked about film
Prabhas’s latest film Ek Niranjan, being directed by Puri Jagannadh, is the most-hyped Telugu flick today! First, the film has Bollywood's hot property Kangna Ranaut making her debut in Tollywood. Secondly, it is being shot in a massive set of eight acres in Jubilee Hills. The estimated cost of this gigantic set, designed by art director Chinna, is said to be a whopping three crores.
Speaking about the film, producer Aditya Ram said: "Art director Chinna erected a huge set which resembles some areas in Hyderabad such as four roads (Clock Tower), Hanuman Temple and Dhobi Ghat. He also constructed houses of the hero and heroine. We shot a song on Prabhas and Kangna Raunat in four different sets in Annapurna Studios and the crew is going to Switzerland on June 18 to shoot a couple of songs. The final schedule will begin in July in Bangkok.”
Touted to be an out-and-out commercial movie, Ek Niranjan gives equal importance to romance, action, fun and emotion, director Puri said. As of now, the film has completed 50%of the shooting. Produced under the banner of Aditya Ram Movies, Ek Niranjan stars Mukul Dev, Tanikella Bharani, Brahmanandam, Posani Krishna Murali, Ali and Sunil in the cast. Mani Sharma has scored the music; cinematography is by Shyam K. Naidu; editing is by M.R. Varma.

Emraan Khan uses Kangna's vanity van
Emraan Hashmi was lodged inside the vanity van of Kangana Ranaut while shooting the movie ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’. Now, before you let that naughty imagination of yours run wild, let’s make the picture clear. Though Emraan was in Kangana’s vanity van, she wasn’t there. The serial kisser was temporarily using her van because his own van did not turn up on the film’s sets.
It happened that while shooting the Milan Luthria-directed film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai , Emraan found himself stranded on the sets when his vanity van did not arrive at its scheduled time. The van apparently met with an accident on its way. Since the clock was ticking and the shooting unit was waiting for him, Emraan decided to use Kangana’s vanity van. The actress did not have any shots that day and wasn’t on the sets.

Information on Kangna's dress for IIFA
And it’s not by the doings of on-off boyfriend Adhyayan Suman, but by a dress that designer Rick Roy has created for her that weighs an astonishing Kangna Ranaut 25 kg. Awe-struck by the gowns at the Oscars, Kangna apparently asked the designer to make one fairytale gown for her to wear at the IIFA award ceremony. The inspired designer used a shipload of crystals on 250 metres of pink fabric for this gown. Kangna is said to be shocked by the creation and is wondering how she will walk in it. “That’s your headache, how you pack it, carry it and walk in it,” the designer is supposed to have advised the Bollywood hottie.

Launch of Kangana's Blog: wwww.realkangnaranaut.com
Kangana Ranaut has decided to put to rest all the rumors surrounding her personal and professional life with just a click of a button. The young actor is the latest to join the online bandwagon as she launched her website at a hotel in Mumbai on Friday. While most celebrities are using their websites to comment on current issues, Kangana is clear this one wont have celebrity gyaan at all.
EXCLUSIVE: Kangana and Adhyayan BROKE-UP
This may be a rumor, but according to sources Kangana and Adhyayan have broken up but they remain friends. So the rumour of trouble in their paradise was not hogwash. Kangana and Adhyayan have finally put an end to their love story after more than a year long relationship.
Apparently, it was Adhyayan who called off the relationship. But the split happened amicably. There wasn’t any dry cleaning of dirty linen in public. In fact, the two stars met and discussed and decided that it was better for them to discontinue their relationship.
Adhyayan, who’s been linked with a number of actresses lately, says he wants to focus on his career at this point in time and can’t handle the pressure of a long-distance relationship.
Kangana, however, was more forthcoming and honest when she told a tabloid: “It (Adhyayan’s decision to split) came as a shock to me. But I guess he has other priorities now, and many options in terms of people to be with. It's an amicable break-up and I wish him the best.”

Kangana Meets MidDay Contest Winner
Kangana Ranaut intermingled with the office folk at the Killer Jeans store where she indulged over pizzas and spent a fun afternoon, clicking pictures, signing autographs and sharing her views on the Indian film industry, fashion, food and more. A splendid soiree to sum up!
What's more...Riding high on critical acclaim and commercial success of her two recent films, she is all set to launch her own official website www.realkangnaranaut.com today, where her fans can read what Kangna has to say.
It seems it was Big B's initiative to blog inspired her to join the online bandwagon. We wish the gorgeous belle, incandescent success to develop that 'real' connection with her fans through her website!
Kangana's New Site
Kangana Ranaut has just launched her first REAL website which is kind of like a blog, but it isn't really finished yet. Kangana basically will confirm any rumors and also connect directly with her fans. I have seen the site and it is most likely not completed yet, but Kangana does give you an overview of what she'll be doing on it and stuff. The site is called www.realkanganaranaut.com and it looks very stylish and nice.
I Missed The Cannes, But I Don't Feel Left Out
Kangana has been in the industry for three years now. She has established herself as a serious actress and style icon. So, how has she changed during this time? “When I started four years ago, I was a teenager and now I am 22. When I will be 40, I will be different. I think we grow or mature and change every year, which according to me is a very good thing. A person’s view or perception of life changes with experience which has an impact on his/her relationships. I feel that I have changed a lot. I started as a teenager and now I feel that I have become a woman now. When I will be 25 or 26, then I would have learnt more from life. I didn’t even know how to talk when I started but I have learnt that now. When you start working at a young age, then you need to learn and grow up very fast,” adding, “Everything is changing all the time and we should accept it without fighting it. There are changes in nature and similarly there are changes in our personalities, careers and lives, which we must graciously accept and move forward in life.”
She has been dating her current beau Adhyayan Suman for over a year now. Recently there were rumours of his link up with Jashnn co-star Shahana Goswami. Kangana is a really cool and secure girlfriend. When asked about her take on the Adhyayan Suman-Shahana Goswami link up, she laughed it off saying, “I think you should ask Shahana and Adhyayan. I don’t think there is anything going on between them.”
Kangana didn’t promote Kites at the Cannes Film Festival and neither is she seen in the promos of the film. So, does she feel left out as all the attention is focused on Barbara Mori and her chemistry with Hrithik Roshan?
“I don’t feel left out though I missed going to the Cannes Film Festival,” she laughs, adding on a more serious note, “I was hired to do my job, which is acting and I have done that. I don’t care about the publicity. The rest of it is their strategy to promote the movie and they know what is best for the film.”
About dancing with Hrithik, she says, “I had a great time shooting for the film. Hrithik is an amazing dancer as everyone knows and it was great to dance with him.”

Plot of "Kites"
Kites is the story of J (Hrithik Roshan), a young con-man man who lives life in the fast lane in Las Vegas. He is always ready to make a quick buck and always on the lookout for a victim. One day he bumps into the extremely wealthy Gina (Kangana Ranaut), a Salsa student who belongs to a very well-connected family, and falls in love with him. However, life soon turns upside down when J falls in love with Gina’s brother’s fiancĂ©e Natasha (Barbara Mori). From here starts an intriguing trail of betrayal, revenge, romance and sacrifice! Hrithik sports this lovelorn look in the film at a time when he loses his love and his identity and is just wandering around in the desert. His long locks and unshaven look have been styled by Kroma K and his clothes designed by Sumeet Varma. Roshan is seen with look in some parts in the film. Directed by Anurag Basu, the film was shot in Mumbai, New Mexico, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles and is a Reliance Big Pictures presentation. It is scheduled for a 2009 Diwali release

"This technology is a big achievement in itself. Every filmmaker will now concentrate more on dialogues, because when you listen to dialogues, you should like it also. So, I think the dialogue writer's responsibility will increase when producers come to know about this medium, which can generate more revenue. Naturally, the director and producer will give more importance to dialogues," Bhandarkar said.
Ranaut also talked about her favourite dialogue in the movie "Fashion".
"My personal favourite dialogue in the movie is when I tell Priyanka Chopra "Yeh jagah hi kuch aise hai, kab kya badal jaye kuch pata nahi chalta" It's a very strong, " said Ranaut.
Audio cinema will be made available through various service providers including Idea, Vodafone, Airtel Mobile and Reliance.

Kangana Is Not Upset about Barbara Stealing Limelight
Mumbai: After playing a model in Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion and walking the ramp a number of times on and off the screen, one would think Kanagana Ranaut has mastered the art, but sometimes even a pro can falter - like she actress did, when she tripped on her clothes while sashaying down the ramp in a Suneet Varma creation.
"The show was nice and the collection was really good. It was nice to be a part of Suneet's show. He is my favorite designer and I've done Kites with him. I was very glad to be a part of this show. It was a great show," says she.
Talking of her latest film Kites, one wonders why Kangana was not seen promoting the film at Cannes along side its lead pair Barbara Mori and Hrithik Roshan. When asked whether she felt that Barbara was stealing the limelight, Kangana says diplomatically, "Barbara will come to promote Kites because she is the main cast of the film and the film is all about lovers, so it will be good. People will really like the film."
And finally, if you thought that it was Kangana's 'good friend' Adhyayan Suman who was always by her side then you are in for a surprise. It's her pet pooch who gets all her attention, because - as she puts it - she can't leave the pooch alone.
