Kangana is having fun!

Now that Kangna Ranaut is single, she has loads of time on her hands which she utilises in yoga, dancing or meditation.

Her other favourite activity is watching movies and she was spotted at the screening of Sikandar recently, wearing shorts and a white shirt.

And whenever Kangna wants to enjoy a film, she makes sure to take her sister along. The actress was spotted with her sister at a multiplex to watch Love Aaj Kal, which has turned out to be a hit.

Kangna couldn't catch the movie soon after its release because first she was shooting in South Africa and later the theatres had shut down because of the swine flu scare.

We spotted the actress enjoying the film with loads of popcorn and chit- chatting like any other girl. Who said single girls can't have fun?

"Fashionable" Kangana

Film-maker Samir Karnik was recently in a crisis situation. And the person who came to his aid was none other than Kangna Ranaut.

Samir wanted to cast a heroine for his film. However, the problem was that his film had just two days of shooting left for completion. In such a short notice no designer was available to style Kangna. So, Kangna took it upon herself to do the styling thus helping Samir out of the desperate situation. Without her intervention, the shooting might have got delayed causing losses to the project.

A source says, "It's a surprise that the first schedule of Samir's Vaada Raha began even before a female lead was finalised. Every night after pack up, Samir and his team would discuss the choice of actors. Kangna proved to be the best option. By the time Samir zeroed in on her, it was almost the end of the schedule with just two days of shooting left. So, with hardly any time left, Kangna came to shoot in clothes from her own wardrobe."
Samir says, "Kangna was a thorough professional and the best choice for the film. Audiences will be surprised at how different she looks in this role."

Apart from Kangna, Vaada Raha stars Bobby Deol and child actor Dwij Yadav. But this isn't the only film that's keeping Kangna busy.

She says, "I've signed a two-film deal with Pritish Nandy Communications. The first one is with Amitabh Bachchan. I'm waiting for the second script now."

With many other projects like No Problem, Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, Tanu Weds Manu, Kites, Actor (with Amitabh) and an untitled film with Sanjay Dutt, Kangna surely has her hands full.

Recently, she also got herself a BMW 7 series, a model which incidentally her ex-boyfriend Adhyayan Suman also owns.

"My choice of car had nothing to do with Adhyayan," she says, adding, "It's white in colour with beige interiors. Those are my favourite colours in a car. Also, I wanted 5 on the number plate because it's lucky for me. It's probably my biggest purchase of late. What I enjoy the most is the silence inside the car while I am driving back home after a hectic day."

Kangana clarifies things

At the time when Kites was creating a furor almost each day on courtesy the alleged liaison between the lead pair, Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori, the third vertex of this love triangle, Ranaut, was missing. While Roshan and Mori went all out, appearing at various parties, film events and even at the Cannes Croisette, arm-in-arm.
Now Ranaut’s back, she adorns Roshan’s arm at the shutterbug-friendly parties. More rumours alleged she protested to Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik’s producer/director father. But Ranaut denies anything of the sort happened. “That would have been very petty of me, don’t you think?” she asks sincerely. “I think everyone involved with the film wants it to do well and hopes it is a hit. The film’s producers and marketers have a better take on how a film needs to be promoted.” One of the most awaited releases of next year, Kites has been chiefly shot in Mexico with Roshan as the protagonist who plays a salsa teacher. Mori is paired opposite the heartthrob as a Spanish dancer. “Kites is a love story between Barbara and Hrithik. I play his student,” says the 22-year-old, mighty happy to have had to train in the “sexy” dance form.

But it isn’t unusual for even good dancers to lose their nerve when expected to match steps with the perfectionist that Roshan is. “It was hard work indeed. Hrithik would teach me the steps and we would practice till I had perfected each move. I would try to match, match and match his lithe, but often, by the time I would get it, he would have come up with another creative inspiration, sometimes abandoning the initial one we’d worked on!” Ranaut rues.

Mori, on the other hand, helped her learn Spanish. “The movie is multilingual — a mix of Hindi,

English and Spanish. Though I don’t have any dialogues in Spanish, it was extremely sweet of Barbara and her family to introduce me the basics of the language,” gushes the petite actress.

Looking at the films she has in her kitty — Anees Bazmee’s No Problem, Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, Tanu Weds Manu with Madhavan, Actor that stars Amitabh, and an untitled film opposite Sanjay Dutt — the leggy actress has certainly moved on from her “suicidal tendencies”.

“One benefit of doing light-hearted roles is that even if you get into the skin and mindset of the character, it does not emotionally impact you as much,” she laughs.

Single again after her break-up with Adhyayan Suman, Ranaut is back to being one of the most eligible senoritas in the industry. And she is out to prove that she is living it up — she’s bought herself a swishy Beemer and a big diamond to boot. She may be over her ex but has the break-up made her vow off “struggling actors”? “Never say never. So I don’t know what I might or might not do in the future,” she says. “But at present, I’m just enjoying being single, not looking for a man, and am enjoying hanging out with my girlfriends and having fun.”

NEW STILLS: EK NIRANJAN

Kangana is multi-talented

Kangna Ranaut has a few aces up her sleeve. And one thing she knows is that looking good is half the battle won in an industry where looks and glamour is an essential. So she has learnt the art of doing make up and admits that she does not need any make up artist to do a touch up for her if she has to get ready in a jiffy.

Busy doing the make up for her mother, who was going for her first television interview, Ranaut said, "I am a very good with make up. I prefer doing my own make up. The art of applying cosmetics on your face is that it should never look like you have put anything on your face, and that takes a long time."

It is believed that Ranaut preferred doing her own make up for Anurag Basu's Kites. Not just that, the Gangster actress also went shopping for her own clothes that was required in the film. Hailing from Manali, the actress would always experiment with her clothing, much to the horror of her parents. Ranaut revealed, "My father used to get shocked if I wore short clothes. But once I went to Chandigarh, I got a free reign and I could mix and match."

The artist in Ranaut is also visible in all the designing that is done in her house. Instead of hiring an interior decorator, Ranaut used her own skills and has done up her three bedroom apartment in Bandra in shades of black and white. Taking pride in her work, she said, "Even the name plate of my house is designed by me. I went to a shop that specializes in such designing and got them to custom make it for me."

All the designing sure cost the actress a pretty bomb, but with so many films up for release this year, Ranaut has worked hard to reach where she is today and to get what she wants.

"Ek Niranjan" to release in October 29th

A 35-day schedule of Adityaram Movies' Ek Niranjan, directed by Puri Jagannath and starring Prabhas and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles, was held in Bangkok. The climax sequence and a few other scenes were filmed.

The shooting is currently in progress in Hyderabad. Except for two songs and some key scenes that are pending, the shooting of the film is complete.

Ek Niranjan is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 29th. The supporting cast includes Sonu Sood, Mukul Dev, Makrand Deshpande, Brahmanandam, Ali, Suneel, Venumadhav, Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharani, Sangeetha, Posani Krishna Murali, Satyaprakash and Sravan. Recently, both Puri & Prabhas spent one day(on Tuesday) at Chanchalguda jail to shoot key sequences. Mukul Dev(Krishna fame) and Satya Raj were also part of this shoot.

Usually for filming these type of scenes, many directors would erect a jail set, but Puri opted for a real jail to make the scenes look natural.

Sanjay Dutt and Kangna Ranaut may team up

In all these decades in the industry, Sanjay Dutt has never done a hardcore political thriller. But now that he’s had a taste of netagiri, Dutt is
ready for the challenge. This may just work wonders for Sanjay’s career. Sanjay, who returned to Mumbai after two months of shooting in Cape Town, has set aside all his assignments to act in a new film that promises to revamp his political image.

The untitled thriller, set in real time, will have no songs and frills and only has three main characters who never come face to face.

The film which will be directed by the Hyderabad-based Mani Shankar (whose last espionage film Mukbiir was critically acclaimed) is about siphoning and laundering of trillions of dollars from India and being placed in unknown locations the world over.

Sanjay Dutt and Irrfan Khan play two government agents from different walks of life who come together to raise Rs 32,000 crore in two hours.

The two-hour thriller will unfold in real time from 11 am to 1 pm.

Even more interestingly, Kangna Ranaut, who teams up with Dutt for the first time, never meets Dutt in the film.

The film, to be produced by Sohail Makhlai, brings back Mani Shankar to Mumbai to team up with Sanjay Dutt with whom he had last done the disastrous Rudra.

Mani, reluctant to reveal anything, says, “I’m under a confidentiality clause. But the film is partly based on what I saw and heard when I was on the staff in the Prime Minister’s office between 1994-1995. As part of his advisory team during my travels all over the world with the PM, I heard things that never left my mind. I knew some day I’d make a film about what I knew from the whispers in the corridors of power.”

The expose, when put on screen, promises to blow the lid off many international financial scandals where India has been involved.

Dutt, of course, is rejoicing. He gets to play a man who takes on the politicians from the inside

"Vaada Raha" is Samir's third attempt

After three back- toback flops - Kyun! Ho Gaya Na, Nanhe Jaisalmer and Heroes - director Samir Karnik has pulled up his socks.

Sources say a lot is happening in the Karnik camp. The filmmaker is currently readying for the release of his much delayed film Vaada Raha, earlier titled Roshan, with Bobby Deol and Kangna Ranaut in the lead roles.

It is heard that Sameer was not satisfied with the way the film was turning out. Hence, he decided to make some changes and rechristen the film to infuse fresh life into it and turn around his luck, at least this time.

The film is an emotional drama in which Bobby plays a doctor whose life changes after he meets with an accident that leaves him crippled. It gives out a message that one should never lose hope. And that's exactly what we want to tell Samir as well. Do not lose hope if this one comes a cropper too, Samir.

Kangana at the premiere of Sikandar

Kangana Ranaut attended the premiere of the film Sikander. SIKANDAR is a co-production between BIG Pictures with filmmaker Sudhir Mishra's production house. The film stars Parzaan Dastur, Ayesha Kapur of BLACK fame along with R. Madhavan, Sanjay Suri & Arunoday Singh in key roles.

Shahrukh Khan will pay tribute to Michael Jackson

Now, Bollywood unites to pay a heartfelt tribute to the King of Pop in a video, which will be aired on Michael Jackson’s birthday on August 29. The initiative has been taken by Shah Rukh Khan himself.

Vishal Dadlani confirmed the story and said, “The song is titled, We lived in his world.”

Our source said, “Shah Rukh Khan is a huge fan of the late Michael Jackson and when the creative heads in Red Chilles pitched the idea, he loved it. He had cried when he learnt about MJ’s death. He was also supposed to attend one of the London concerts which never happened. So, the idea was finalised and they decided to make a music video as a tribute. The best talent for the song was Vishal of the Vishal-Shekhar duo. Vishal is a huge fan too and he was in shock for days when he learnt about MJ’s death.

He has written this passionate song and it has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar. They are also the performers in the video with singers Kay Kay, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Goshal, among others. The video will have heartfelt messages by top stars like SRK, Hrithik Roshan, Prabhu Deva, Shahid Kapoor, Harman Baweja, Yuvraj Singh, Katrina Kaif, Kangna Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra, among others. The video, currently being shot, is directed by Samar Khan.”

The source further said, “None of the people associated with the video has charged a penny and it’s their love for the legendary singer that has brought them together. It’s been shot in low lighting and has a unique mood. The video will be aired on all the leading channels on August 29, MJ’s birthday. The song has been choreographed by Remo.”

Samar Khan remained unavailable for comment.

Kangana's transformation on "Tanu Weds Manu

After playing a series of heavy duty roles in movies like RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES, FASHION, LIFE IN A...METRO, WOH LAMHE and GANGSTER, Kangana Ranaut would finally be seen smiling. She has signed TANU WEDS MANU, a light hearted film, where she is paired opposite R. Madhavan. This unconventional pairing has been brought together by Aanand L Rai who has earlier directed a thriller STRANGERS [Jimmy Sheirgill, Kay Kay Menon].

"It was after much deliberation that Kangna was finalized for the role", says Aanand who has been a known name in the television circuit before films came calling, "The character that Kangna would be playing in TANU WEDS MANU is such that it as of paramount importance to get the casting right."

In the past, Kangna has mainly played troubled characters. While she was haunted by ghosts in RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES, FASHION had her playing a supermodel who fell to drugs and abuse. LIFE IN A... METRO showed her in a turbulent affair with a much married boss (Kay Kay Menon), WOH LAMHE had her play a schizophrenic while in GANGSTER she played an alcoholic mall to a gangster (Shiney Ahuja).

"Yes, I have studied her filmography quite closely and I know for sure that TANU WEDS MANU would finally showcase Kangna in a different light. There is a definite humour to the film which thankfully is poles apart from life v/s death roles that Kangna has played in the past", smiles Aanand.

Detailing the reason behind finalising Kangna, Aanand says, "When I was narrating the film to her, she came across as someone who was very passionate and energetic when it came to films. Moreover, what worked for me was the fact that she was taking a personal view on the subject. Now that's the kind of girl I wanted for the film since I wanted her to add something of her own to the character as well."

Kangana Biggest Fear

And while nothing seems to faze this sassy actress, what with Kangna having pulled off some of the most daring scenes on camera with much ease, there is one thing that gives her nightmares — getting on stage.

Admitting to her stage fright, Kangna says that having to face the audience on stage is what she dreads the most. “Yes, nothing ever makes me nervous except speaking on the stage. I still get jitters when I have to do that, even if it’s just to say a thank you,” confesses the actress.

Hrithik and Kangana on "Tere Mere Beech Mein"

Adhyayan BROKE up with Kangana for his sweetheart

Adhyayan Suman goes back to his childhood sweetheart, after his break-up with Kangna Ranaut. Let’s call her Maya...

Adhyayan Suman and Kanga Ranaut may scream from the rooftops that ending their romantic relationship was a mutual decision but our source informs us that it’s not true. Apparently Adhyayan’s claims that they ended their relationship in order to focus on their respective careers, is not the whole truth.

Our source, who’s close to the Suman family, reveals, “The fact is that Adhyayan left Kangna to return to his childhood sweetheart, who also happens to be his neighbour. Adhyayan’s parents, who were totally opposed to his relationship with Kanga, were sure that their son would come back to the girl they approve of. And Adhyayan is now trying very hard to win her back. The girl, Maya (real name withheld on the request of the Suman family) is not from the film industry. She’s been almost like a member of the Suman family for years now. So after the way Adhyayan treated her and dated Kangna, she is naturally wary of renewing her relationship with him. But Adhyayan is completely over Kangna now, and they aren’t in touch at all. So she is giving him a second chance.”

Kangna, however, refuses to talk about Adhyayan. She would rather focus on the new man in her life... Lord Krishna! Yes, like Lata Mangeshkar and Hema Malini, the two most well-known Krishna bhakts in Bollywood, Kangna has now given her heart to God. Says a friend close to Kangana, “She feels the connection with divinity puts one’s life in a place where it’s impossible to get shaken by the impermanence of man-woman relationships. Kangna’s God and her family are her two sources of strength. Beyond that she is not thinking about anyone right now.”

Happier still is the news that Kangna is finally getting together with Hrithik Roshan for a television show, belying rumours of tension with the actor over the publicity of Kites. Reasons a source close to Kangna, “Kangna is very clear on this issue. Kites is basically a love story between Hrithik and Barbara Mori . So why should he not be highlighted in the publicity? Kangna love Hrirhik as an actor.” Kangna and Hrithik are recording for Farah Khan’s talk show Tere Mere Beech Mein on Sunday. That should put to rest all rumours about Kangna being unhappy about the Kites publicity.

Sushmita encourages Kangana to take up driving

Known in the industry circles for their independent personas, Kangana Ranaut and Sushmita Sen are doing a film together for the first time. The film is Anees Bazmee directed No Problem which is produced by Anil Kapoor. Presently the shooting for the film is on in South Africa with the entire ensemble cast present including Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Sushmita Sen, Kangana Ranaut, Neetu Chandra and Paresh Rawal. Our unit sources reveal both Sush and Kangana have bonded so well that Sush is now seen encouraging Kangana to take up driving more seriously.
“Kangana is known to have driving phobia. Though the independent actress owns a car she hates driving and the reason is she doesn’t feel that she is confident enough to drive around the Mumbai city. When in South Africa, Sush came to know about this she started taking extra efforts in encouraging Kangana to try driving in South Africa as much as she can. She even started hoping into the car herself and sitting next to Kangana began giving her instructions as she drove short distances around their hotel there. Now this has begun to work wonders slowly and Kangana has started to enjoy driving.”
Well it’s a heartening thing to see that two actresses are bonding so well that they are helping the other to overcome their phobias that too on an outdoor shoot when in today’s time we only get to hear about cat fights and bitchy anecdotes whenever two actresses shoot together abroad for a film.

First Look "Vaada Raha"

Kangana Can't Stop Being In Love

In her personal life, Kangana admits that though the past relationships still trouble her at times, but she keeps herself distracted through her work. The actress has also accepted the fact that though love hurts but she still can't stop being in love.

Some of Kangana's fresh films include NO PROBLEM opposite Akshaye Khanna and TANNU WEDS MANNU with R Madhavan. Well, let's hope this new dawn in Kangana's personal and professional life marks a new high in her life.

Sushmita Call Kangana "Minnie Mouse"

One of the finest actresses of Bollywood, Kangna Ranaut is having a ball shooting for her forthcoming comedy NO PROBLEM.

Not only Kangna, but even her co-stars are in love with the character she is playing in the film. Especially former beauty queen Sushmita Sen, one of the co-stars, who can't stop raving about Kangna's colourful character. So much so that she often refers to Kangna as Minnie Mouse on the sets, in jest.

Kangna shared the same on her blog, ''I've been shooting for Anees Bazmi's NO PROBLEM, and had a great time on the sets with Sushmita, Akshaye and Sanjay. I enjoyed spending girl-time with Sushmita, who nicknamed me 'Minnie Mouse' because of my hairdo for the role I play, which has bangs and two pony tails...and probably because I wore a lot of pink...and she thought it looked so cute. It was fun to hang out with someone so chilled out.''

EK NIRANJAN update

Prabhas upcoming film in the direction of Puri Jaganath is shaping up briskly. Kangana Ranaut is the female lead and Adithya Ram is producing it on Adithya Ram Movies banner.

Presently shooting is in progress at Thailand. Recently a song was canned on the lead pair in the exotic beaches of Thailand and a source said that Kangana was very co-operative during that song shoot and will steal the hearts of youth.

This schedule will be completed by Tuesday, August 11th and the unit will be back to home on 12th. Remaining patch work will be finished in and around Hyderabad with in 7 days starting from 16th August. Adhitya Ram is planning to release the movie in September last week.

Kangana's career change

She’s shooting her very first comedy — No Problem with Akshaye Khanna — and will take up another, Tannu Weds Mannu with R Madhavan, immediately after that. This image change couldn’t have come at a better time.

Yes, I am seeing a lot of changes recently, more positive than negative thankfully,” she said of her personal and professional life. Excited about doing comedy, Kangna said, “It’s taken so long for me to do what most conventional actresses start out doing — romance or romantic comedies. But better late than never. I was tired of being depressed, now it’s time to have some fun,” she said.

Admitting she’s not too funny a person in real life, despite having a humorous side, the sexy star said, “I am glad I did the intense kind of roles early on in my career. But now I am happy with the kind of films coming my way.” And that includes Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and the Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori-starrer Kites, amongst others. Does she feel left out considering the film is being promoted solely with these two stars? “I have done my job, the rest is the filmmakers’ call, they can market it in whatever way they want to,” she replied, adding, “at the end of the day, it’s only good performances that’ll stand out.”

Her break-up has not really left Kangna heart-broken and hurt, or the actress is not showing any signs of it. “It’ll take a lot more than these ups and downs in life to break me,” she said. “And it’s really not as if I am working to get over anything. Work’s keeping me busy for work’s sake, but yes, it’s keeping me distracted from pondering too much about the past. I know that love hurts sometimes, but I can never stop being in love.”

"Kites" may release next year

The buzz has been growing about the Bollywood film, “Kites,” and anticipation continues to rise for its upcoming release. Well we have some unfortunate news for you: it looks like the Roshan’s are thinking about delaying the release of the film from December of this year to January of next! So what’s stopping them from letting the film hit the theaters this year? Well sources tell us that they want to release the film on January 15th, 2010 to mark the 10th anniversary of Hrithik Roshan’s start in Bollywood.

On January 14, 2000 we all fell in love with the actor in his debut film, “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai.” Hrithik played a double role where he portrayed two characters. Rohit, an orphan who falls in love with Soniya; played by the actress, Amisha Patel. Rohit is killed in the film and that’s when the second character, Raj Chopra who Hrithik also played is brought into the movie. This film showcased Hrithik’s talent as an actor and also got the whole world talking about his great looks, charm and hot dance moves. It was the start of something big for the now very successful actor.

With all the pride Hrithik has brought the Roshan family with his success it makes sense for his father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, to want to celebrate his son’s 10th year in the industry on a grand scale. However is holding off the release of Kites the right answer? After all, the movie has been one of the most talked about releases coming out of B-town this year. Will the change of date affect moviegoers desire to see the film? If they wait until January, perhaps fans will be excited to go out and celebrate Hrithik’s career by seeing his newest project. Well, hopefully the filmakers are taking that into account before they make their decision. Rakesh Roshan told the Bombay Times, "I will take a decision by September 10 on whether it's coming in December this year or next January." With all of this buzz surrounding the movie already, it seems like Roshan knows what he’s doing!

A Top Angle Film production, Vaada Raha has been produced and directed by Karnik and besides Deol and Ranaut also stars child actor Dwij Yadav. A touching family drama, Vaada Raha comes after Karnik's Heroes, which was released last year

Trailer of "Vaada Raha"

Kangana To Return To Mumbai For "Once Upon A Time"

Kangna Ranaut, who is currently shooting in South Africa for Anees Bazmee’s No Problem, will return to Mumbai next week for a major schedule with the unit of Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. The actor, who plays the role of Ajay Devgan’s wife in the film, has just shot for one day since the film went on the floors on June 3. Once she is back, she will be shooting several romantic sequences with the actor, including a song that will be shot against real-life location, much like the rest of the film, revealed director Milan Luthria. Talking about her as well as other actors’ look, Luthria said, “It’s taken us months to create a look inspired from the ’70s fashion. We are ensuring that it is closely-guarded.” The unit, which has been shooting at several indoor locations as well as a major outdoor sequence on the ship, has been instructed to park vanity vans as close as possible to the field of shoot, not allow curious on-lookers to click any pictures on their cellphones and even keep the clapper board free from the film’s title to keep curiosity at bay!
Meanwhile, even Prachi Desai, who is very much in the city, has shot just about three to four days of work. This, as the first schedule saw the filmmaker shooting major individual sequences with Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi, whose character is inspired from that of Dawood Ibrahim. The two actors have started shooting with each other only about a week ago, according to Luthria, who added that the film is being shot in a manner that blends realism with flamboyance.
